Artist Agency is an active practice. We give artists greater agency to make decisions in support of their careers by providing them with the resources they need to execute them. We work with artists both independently and alongside galleries and institutions, building on existing artworld models, to fill the gaps where support is needed.
(1)
Ride or die

Our most robust level of support for artists managing large-scale projects with long-term benchmarks and budgets.

The work is “Front-of-House,” advocating on behalf of the artist, serving as the artist’s agent to ensure the scope of projects is defined, and goals are met. You guide the creative decisions while we make sure the T’s are crossed and the I’s are dotted.

  • Ongoing care, support, & management of an artist's practice & career
  • Regularly scheduled check-in meetings
  • Communication through email and text messages keeps you supported at every step of your process
  • Interfacing directly with collaborating institutions and clients
  • Facilitating contract negotiation
  • Guiding large-project workflows
  • Advising project budgets & timelines
  • Proposal support, direction & guidance
  • Inventory management & guidance
  • Legacy archiving & planning guidance
(2)
Accountability Partner

Our most popular level of support for artists managing active projects, commissions, and acquisitions.

The work is both big-picture guidance and real-time, project-focused consulting and advisory services, providing “Back-of-House” management and care for an artist's practice and career. The artist stays fully in the driver's seat, while Artist Agency is the back-seat driver you’ve always wanted. Using an evaluation matrix, we work with you to develop strategies to achieve the best outcomes for you and your practice.

  • Check-ins during regularly scheduled meetings
  • We are cc’d on important project collaborations
  • Coaching through project progress & decision making
  • Cost-benefit analysis, weighing opportunities to better support an artist’s practice & values
  • Acquisitions negotiation & guidance
  • Gradual pricing growth, value setting, & outreach strategy

Strategic Planner

Our entry-level option is an opportunity to invest in the long-term vision for your practice with a short-term commitment.

Support is scheduled on a one-on-one basis. Starting with an in-depth analysis of your overarching practice, we use a holistic approach to help you identify and develop goals and associated action items tailored to you.

  • Roadmapping existing core resources & spaces for expansion
  • Assessing audience and potential income sources
  • Artist's statement, framing language & positioning of practice
  • Finding answers to questions & supporting the problem-solving process
