How we help

Support where the work gets complicated

Know what you are saying yes to

Evaluate fit before the opportunity becomes an obligation.

  • Assess alignment with values, finances, capacity and long-term goals.
  • Surface hidden labor, risk and costs.
  • Turn ambiguity into a clear decision.

Protect your interests

Make the terms work for the artist, not only the institution or buyer.

  • Review contracts, fees, scope and usage rights.
  • Prepare for or lead negotiations.
  • Keep the artist in control of the final decision.

Keep the work moving

Build the structure required to carry an ambitious project through.

  • Shape proposals, budgets, schedules and workflows.
  • Coordinate communication with collaborators and clients.
  • Reduce scope creep and administrative drag.

Build beyond the next project

Create a stronger practice around the work already in motion.

  • Develop pricing and sales strategy.
  • Organize inventory, documentation and outreach.
  • Plan for growth, transition and legacy.

Engagements

Ways to work together

Ride or die

For artists carrying ambitious, multi-part work with long timelines, substantial budgets or several stakeholders. Artist Agency becomes an extension of your practice, representing your interests and managing the details that keep the work moving.

Accountability Partner

(ONGOING ADVISORY)

Our most popular level of support for artists managing active projects, commissions, and acquisitions.

The work is both big-picture guidance and real-time, project-focused consulting and advisory services, providing “Back-of-House” management and care for an artist’s practice and career. The artist stays fully in the driver’s seat, while Artist Agency is the back-seat driver you’ve always wanted. Using an evaluation matrix, we work with you to develop strategies to achieve the best outcomes for you and your practice.

  • Check-ins during regularly scheduled meetings
  • We are cc’d on important project collaborations
  • Coaching through project progress & decision making
  • Cost-benefit analysis, weighing opportunities to better support an artist’s practice & values
  • Acquisitions negotiation & guidance
  • Gradual pricing growth, value setting, & outreach strategy

ENGAGEMENT: Monthly retainer. A three-month minimum is recommended.

Strategic Planner

(FOCUSED STRATEGY)

For artists who need clarity before they need ongoing management. We take a structured look at where the practice is now, what is getting in the way and what the next stage requires.

Career transitions, stalled growth, new audiences or markets, income diversification, or a reset after a major body of work.

(SUPPORT CAN INCLUDE)

  • Practice audit and priority setting
  • Career roadmap and action plan
  • Audience and income opportunity assessment
  • Artist statement, framing language and positioning
  • Resource and relationship mapping

Process

How it works

Talk through the real situation.

Bring the active opportunity, unfinished plan, contract, backlog or decision. We will identify what is actually at stake and what kind of support would be useful.

Set the scope and roles.

Decide what you will handle, what Artist Agency will handle, how communication will work and where final decisions remain with you.

Move the work forward.

Get clear recommendations, practical tools and hands-on follow-through that match the agreed level of support.

Book a meeting

Start with the thing taking up too much space.

You do not need to know which package fits. Bring the project, opportunity or problem, and we will identify the right place to begin.
